GPU Metal Bench/ PCIe /VRAM Speed Test

    Die VRAM Speed & PCIe Transfrespeed ist für die Karte sehr niedrig.

    2.5 zeigt doppelten VRAM Speed bei der RX6800

    habe es nach einem Reboot mehrfach laufen lassen, VRAM Speed ist bei jedem Lauf völlig anders, mal 5, 8, 9, 11, 20, 22 GB/s



    M3 Max ist unverändert

  • Hi, was bei dir VRAM und PCIe Speed angeht stimmt da was nicht!
    Egal ob 10 oder 20 GB/s bei VrAm ist das viiiel zu wenig - Faktor 10 mindestens.

    Dito bei der PCIe Performane . das ist nicht PCIe 4 sondern nur PCIe 3 Speed, was eigentlich nur ältere Grafikkarten Karten und/oder recht alte Mainbords liefern.

    Mac Pro 2019 hat kein PCIe 4. Intel C621 Chipset, 64 PCIe 3 Lanes.

    @khe91, Ok i didnt know you use the RX 6800Xt in the MacPro 2019 with limited PCie Speed.

    Nbody Metal doesnt use much VRAM so the Gigaplops arent lower.


    Can you try the Neat Videobench (also great for GPU only bench)?

    perhaps we see here also some gpu bottleneck (PCI/VRAM) or not?

    3. run neatbench5 with any argument gpu (Terminal app)

    4 run neatbench5 with arguments 4000x3000 gpu

    compare Faktor gpu only fps of default and 4000x3000 setting - 4000x3000 used much much more VRAM up to 3 GB.


    Here my two runs on the RX 5600XT:

    My factor default / 4000x3000= 26fps/5.3 fps = 4,9 times slower using 4000x3000 than default 1920*1080

    Because Size Faktor ist (4000x3000( / (1920*1080 default) = 5,8. Lower factor 4,9 seems to be efficient - fast GPUs can have even lower slowdown factor = less slowdown than 5.8 times bigger GPU task = faster gpu system


    Would be also interesting to see some Apple Mx faktors, FPS vaules here :) The neatvideo bench is UB (Intel/Apple)

    Apples CPU/GPU system has much better VRAM & PCie Transferspeeds than our PCie 4 Intel systems .. other Slowness Faktor?

  • Hier die RX 6750 XT Werte (6700 + 6750 funktionieren mit NootRX.kext statt WEG)

    Changed the title of the thread from “GPU speed Topaz Video Enhance AI - und GPU PCIe /VRAM Speed Test” to “GPU Metal Bench/ PCIe /VRAM Speed Test”.
  • PCI Transferspeed unter den Möglichkeiten der 6xxxer GPU.Liegt aber am MB, Chipsatz oder Konfiguration der Lanes wenn das bei 299er MB ne Rolle spielt.

  • Hier meine RX 6800. Leicht untervoltet.

    Auf PCIe x16 3.0

    Der VRAM Speed sieht doch verdächtig hoch aus.
