  • After un- and replugging my usb-c cable USB 3.0 devices are also recognized :)

you miss an SSDT for hot plug I think (maybe)

Sorry I am confusing with other thunderbolt experimentation :)

  • All good, I guess the cable just wasn't connected properly.

I am having very poor speed of transfer though.

What app do you use to test the speed?

  • I just copied a small folder from external HDD to the desktop with about 1,2MB/s. On a different USB port I have around 120 MB/s.

It also takes a long time untill the HDD appears on the desktop, but this varies as well.

edit: the speed with Usb Stick is normal.

  • formatted in this way is pretty slow copying a 3.2 Gb dmg file on it

maybe it is fat32 (and ventura) related

  • With this one it looks the same as with the one before.

I figured that the whole things works under Catalina without any kext or ssdt. I just checked again and there the external hdd is found, but is also slow. Pretty much the same behavior as in Monterey with kext.

Here ist the ioreg from Catalina, if it is of any help.

    Is there a 6900xt driver?

It was created in Big Sur 11.4 if I remember well

  • Interesting if it is the gpu usbc
