USB Stick mit EFI Partitionieren

    Ich stehe schon wieder aufm Schlauch.


    Wie bringe ich das Festplattentool dazu, eine EFI Partition anzulegen?

    Ich lösche das Volumen mit der Angabe "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" und "GUID Partitionstabelle"

    Aber ne EFI gibt es damit (bei mir) nicht.


    OS ist Mojave.

    Muss ich doch wieder mein Sierra - MacBook ausgraben?

    Wie groß ist denn der Stick?

    Eine EFI wird erst ab einer gewissen Datenträger-Größe erstellt... ich glaube es waren 2 GB oder so...

    Ha! hab mehrere 2GB Sticks probiert, wollte der alten hardware noch einen Sinn geben als OC Teststick.

    Ok, das könnte ein Ansatz sein.

    Eigentlich reicht es einen Stick mit GPT und einer (Ex)FAT-Partition anzulegen. Mit installiertem EFI-Ordner sollte das BIOS diesen dann als UEFI-Bootmedium anzeigen. Zumindest funktioniert das bei mir mit einem alten 2GB großen Stick. Die Partition wird dann von macOS direkt gemountet und angezeigt. Als EFI-Teststick ideal. :)

    EFI Partition braucht man nicht unbedingt für einen Bootstick, wenn das Bios UEFI ist. Ein normaler 2 GB Stick mit MBR Partitionstabelle und Fat32 reicht. Da kopiert man die EFI drauf und wählt im Bios-Bootmenü per F8 (oder F12) den Stick aus und bootet davon.
